A couple of Questions

First off, I just want to say I am back. I sold my V10 and got back into a powerstroke about a month ago. I am currently just getting started. Heres some before and after pics so far.




So far besides the lift. I have done gauges, 4" Silverline turboback exhaust with Muffler delete, AEM Brute Force HD intake. SCT tunes from Vivian. RCD EGR delete will be next.

I have a few questions.

1. My Autometer EGT gauges reads around 100 when it has no power. I have read that other peoples gauges do this too. Is this normal and does it affect the accuracy of the gauge?

2. Could someone remind me what normal idle temp should be and also on both the street and looney tune I seem to be running hot. 800 at 55mph and between 900-1000 at 75mph. It has been about 90+ degrees outside this week. I havent tried stock to see what it would run but this just seems a little warm to me. Let me Know.....

3. At idle my turbo will start to whistle then stop, repeat, repeat... its been about year since my last 6.0 so I am a little rusty on whats normal.

You may have a sticky turbo. If you can, monitor your vgt while idleing and driving and see if the vgt hangs at 15 or 85%. Also monitor your ebp and see if it matches the ebp desired.

Can I monitor that on the SCT X3. data log or something?

How much lift is on that rig? Looks good.

You may be able to. I'm not sure. I've never played with one. You should be able to watch them with anything that can monitor live data.

Nice. I'm gonna go 4" on mine. I think 8" is just a bit much for me. Haha. Looks great though!

Your egt's sound normal to me for a stock turbo... From what I can remember seeing that I have had my powermax for a few months now.

I was wondering that too. Mine does that too, and it's normal vane sweep operation. Unless yours is extreme...

The turbo makes that noise from the latest for flash. Helps keep the vanes from sticking. THEY say!
