Hi Guys,
So here's my situation. My company owns 3 of these: KRYSTAL ENTERPRISES They are 6.0s. They weigh upwards of 16K without passengers. I want to make sure that these motors are well treated and monitored properly to prevent any serious damage and repairs. I would like suggestions as to what I should be using. For example. Edge CTS Bypass oil filter Coolant filter Fuel pressure gauge I would like to know what kind of things I should replace. They are all at about 100K. What kind of things should I have installed for monitoring, what kind of things should I have installed for better performance etc. I really want to do a good job in maintaining them and want to show some seniors what we need to really keep these buses running well and preventing costly repairs. Also, should I be running these buses with Tow/Haul on? Thanks in advance for your help! |

I am definitely going to be reading all of that. I know quite a bit, obviously not enough!
If you were towing 20K what would you do? I was thinking: Edge CTS Fuel Pressure gauge Coolant Filter Bypass Coolant Flush (the full cleansing replacing oil cooler) Transmission cooler cleansing? I know they are not up to date with flashes and TSBs. I was want to have them inspected and quoted on what it would cost for flashing and getting all TSBs out of the way. I feel as this is the right direction. I'm looking for a little help while I continue to educate myself on these beasts!

Get and Edge Insight or a Scangauage2 as your very first add on. The factory gauages or just pretty dummy lights You NEED good gauages to keep these trucks running.
For my truck I would keep the old flash, just my 2 cents. |

Depending on your emissions requirements in your state, I would say either EGR delete or a bulletproof EGR cooler. Also get rid of the cat if it has one, again depending on the inspections requirements in your state. I would be driving that with tow/haul on all of the time.
