Stock radio to stock radio spend the money on a good antenna. I like stainelss whips cause they will bend if the truck goes under something tight.
U cant beat Wilson or K40 antennas, they are pricey though but work great. As for a radio I like Cobra 19,25.29,148 GTLs, and Connex CB radios I like the weather channels also then I can hear it while driving home from work or in a bad storm. All CB's start out as 4 watts but they're are way around that. Mine deadkey's (no talking) at 4 watts but swings to 45 watts when you talk. Youll have to do some research for CB shops but in the end Your radio will talk like those big southern radios you here on channel 19 with mods The lower the SWR the better you will transmit and recieve |

the cheapest cb will talk with a good antenna but the most expensive one is worthless with a sh*tty antenna. the antenna is everything until you start wanting to really reach out and touch someone.

Looking to upgrade my current setup, a Cobra 18 series with a window mounted 'cell-phone' style antenna. My setup looks clean and will reach out a mile or so, but is pretty limited by the small antenna. |

If you're looking for short range, and traffic jams, with a clean overall look, the window mount works well. The one on my truck now will be going onto my wife's F150 with a Cobra 19DX IV. Very small radio with a clean looking antenna. You can barely see it in my sig pic.

If you want some bling, try the cobra 29 LX LE. I use one in my jeep and LOVE IT. Very cool setup and gives a whole new look to the traditional cb look. Switching the display colors is a nice touch also! They were a limited edition cb, so i think the only way you can find them is on ebay or really lucky!
I'll echo what's already been said about cb's/antanae's. A sh##ty radio with a good ant. will send/recieve plenty good for what your wanting it for. The nicer radio's come with more features and options. Also they give you the option to peak/tweak and tune them if wanted. |

Ranger 2950 DX...
![]() CB, 10 meter, 12 meter, SSB and all the funny channels you want. Best radio I ever dropped a dime on. Got mine mounted in a toolbox with a cigar plug adapter and cheapo magnet mount antenna. That way I can switch it from rig-to-rig when I have to without a hitch. Some folks say you gotta have a HAM license to use it, but I say you just gotta avoid getting caught...xD |
