bummed, whats the deal? ect/eot deltas do i need to worry?

So as the title says I'm pretty bummed. About 1000 miles ago I went through the whole restore vc9 flush and clean. My eot was regularly 15 degrees hotter 30 + at times. So at the same time as the flush and clean I also replaced the oil coole and did egr delete. Got the cat elc conc and distilled water. Followed everything to a t. Went on a 5 hour trip to philly this weekend and cruising at 2300 rpm on cruise at about 75 not towing, my eot was 10-13 degrees hotter than ect. 190 ect constant. Eot anywhere from 193 to 203. Do I still need to worry is there drill a problem? is there something else I need to do?

Sig shows my mods. Thanks.

Did you flush before you replaced the oil cooler or after? If you did it after you may have clogged the new one with all the grime from your system.

Not necessarily. If your on the flat travelling at 65MPH, whats your delta look like? You can't really just glance down and get a real firm grip on what the delta really is, you gotta keep an eye out when your on the flat going 60-65 and steady.

Flushed first then changed cooler and did egr delete so I wouldn't clog any new parts.
Wasn't just a glance, it was never even close the whole trip.

Sorry for the double post. Mods merge the 2 or can erase 1

The entire idea about the 15 degree thing is to give an indication of flow through the oil cooler to properly cool the EGR cooler. Since you don't have an EGR cooler, the 15 degree delta means nothing. 203 degree oil is fine and absolutely nothing to worry about.

Here is an interesting thread to read:

wanting to understanding alittle more about ect/eot deltas. - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums

Sounds to me like 250* is as high as a person would want to see that temp. I've had mine at 232* once while towing my 8000# TT. It was right at the top of a hill.

I still maintain that the delta is relevant even with the egr cooler deleted. A high delta indicates a reduced flow through the oil cooler. Granted without the egr cooler you don't have to worry about it rupturing and blowing your head gaskets but it is still an indication that the oil cooler is clogging up. You can probably wait longer than the 15* delta to address it without a egr cooler but I think it is misleading to say that the delta means nothing if there is no egr cooler. It still means your oil cooler is becoming clogged.

Rockbound, you are still within spec, just keep an eye on things.

I've hit 233*F oil towing our travel trailer.
It was 107*F outside and we were going 70mph.
