Synthetic oil at 120k?

I bought an 05 Excursion 6.0 with 118K on it. The truck is really clean and the previous owner seemed to take really good care of it, however I've never spoken to them so I it's all just an assumption.

I've been reading around a good bit and have seen a vast majority of you talk about running fully synthetic oil. I want this truck to run the best it possibly can for as long as it possibly can, so I don't mind the expense of it. However, I've seen a few comments about not running fully synthetic in higher mileage trucks. I'm not sure what kind of oil the previous owner ran.

Thoughts?

I've not noticed any oil leaks. My father in law is a diesel mech and he likes to run the Rotella in his diesel tractors. I've just always been leery of changing to full synthetic on gas engines I've bought in the past that have had some miles on them.
