Rev-X Ordered!

Well....I finally decided to "bite the bullet" and order some of the famous Rev-X. Not because I have stiction or any problems for that matter. I've sank a lot of maintenance dough ($$$) into this truck this Spring and now that I have solid baselines (e.g. ECTs, EOTs, etc, etc), I wanted to see if a product like Rev-X will help with temps, MPGs, power, turbo spooling etc. Recently there was a post that supported some additional HP, etc.

So....Rev-X was ordered and will be put into the motor this weekend (or when it arrives) to compliment the AMSOIL 5-40, ELC coolant change, Gear lube changes, etc, etc. Will be doing some fair amount of hauling starting in 1 week (16k#) for about 1400 miles and will get to see if this additive does any improvement against my baselines.

I'll post my results upon my return!

Well we're back from our long road trip safe and sound! Put on about 1400 miles of which probably 1200 were hauling our 16k# 5er. With the Rev X in the motor (2 bottles) and a fresh oil change of Amsoil 5-40, really didn't notice a whole lot of changes.

Now that's not to say that the Rev X isn't good....but all was fine with my motor to start with....she purrs like a kitten. Mileage, maybe, went up 1 MPG or so as we got around 11.4 compared to in the 10 range. Temps all remained the same averaging 210ish on ECT and 220 to 224 (14ish delta) on EOT. And I may even go as far to say that she fires quicker --- less cranking.

So was it worth the coins? Well....I say yes as a preventive measure in my case. I have no problems spending coins up front to make it last and be more reliable down the road. This truck needs to last me a longgggggg time!

I noticed that my injectors are quieter. They clatter less at startup too. Nothing was wrong with my truck either, but preventative maintenance is always good!

i put some in my 7.3 and i got 200 more rpm out of it, better starting, smoother idle and a little more power i think

Yea. I agree. I usually don't buy into the "magical additives", but this stuff is 100% effective.
