HFCM new vs old style

I went to my dealer today to buy a fuel pump, they had none in stock so I ended up getting the whole hfcm aka fuel pump assembly (that is what the box says). My Ex has the old style with the heater and there is no corrosion inside, so its still good but the pump was shot. For now I put the new one in but am contemplating pulling the new fuel pump out and putting it in the old style hfcm.

What is better for my truck, seeing that the winters get really cold here -40 happens. Or does it really matter seeing that the 06-07's came with the new style from the factory, from what I understand.

If you had the choice what would you do?

Here in NY we don't see the same extreme temperatures you see up north but I changed my HFCM cover last year removing the heater and saw absolutely no difference in the cold months.

Does anybody know the part # for the updated harness that deletes the connector and wires for the heater? My local parts man is having a hard time finding it.

leave the pump the way it is with no heater, the heater can cause corrosion problems in the HFCM. as long as you're running #1 and anti-gel you shouldn't have any problems

don't know the harness # off hand, let me see if i can find it. we just sold one last week too

6C3Z-9F759-A there you go. one 2 connector harness for the new pump
