cheap 6.0 turbo

hey i have 120k miles on my truck and lately i am haveing boost issues,
i seem to be about 10lbs under bosst on my gauge all the time
I only get over 15-20 lbs if i floor it and then i can only get up to 25 lbs
driving around i get like 5-15 lbs
I haven't really looked at it too hard yet, the condition started when i got the engine overhauled a year ago, arp headstuds, stc delete, egr delete, injectors and glow plugs were done among other things

to me it seems like it might be a leak or something wrong with the boost gauge because i can hear the turbo spooling up like normal, when my guage says 5 lbs of boost i can still hear the turbo spoolin like a mother

anyway i was thinking since i have such high miles anyway a new turbo is prolly in store for me soon enough

where is the cheapest place to get one, i would really like to go with the powermax, but the cheaper the better right now, money is pretty tight

if your looking for cheap, buying used would be your best bet. the next cheapest would be a rebuilt stocker, but for what I've seen them sell for i didnt even consider one. you can pick up a brand new powermax with no core for $1200.

1200 eh, well thats no good, i wonder if i shouldn't rip mine off and do the clean up on it, amybe that would help

There's a thought. I would also look for leaks in the up pipes and Y pipe.

i ended up ripping my turbo apart, i replaced the unison ring and got more boost at lower rpms but only like 2 more psi ad wop

I have one here for sale, that came out of a 2005 truck. The exhaust housing, unison ring and vane have been freshly bead blasted:

28 PSI at WOT is pretty normal for a stock motor.

I'm only getting like 22 Wot, like an avg of 10 while driving, i have 90 hp injectors, so i wouldn't mind extra boost to keep up, i'm probably going to get the powermax, unless someone has something better to recommend
