Do I need a new tune?

I have an 06 powerstroke that was stock minus a 4 inch exhaust and a sct tuner by innovative extreme street.

Now I have a powermax and a swamps 58v ficm.

truck is laggy smokes like a sob and get bad fuel mileage (well it always did) but I didnt knw if I needed a retune.

I pulled a trailer about 3000 pounds and I got 9.5mpg on the highway doing between 68-70mph

will a retune do anything

^^^yes! All you need to do is to either contact innovative and have them reflash your tunes for the pm, or if you want you can try another tuner just let them know you have a pm now. For me, it made a huge difference!

Holy heck, stone stock pulling a 3500 LB car on a double axe open I get 14.5-15 with the tow haul button.

First, I hope your not towing with X-Street. Its not ment to be used to tow at all.

Second, with a new Powermax, and 58v FICM, your airflow and hardware has changed quite a bit. Eric at IDP, does retune for the Powermax turbos, gives them a little more fueling low to aid in spooling them up.

Get the tunes updated, and I'd get a good tow tune, or at least use their Street tune with as light as your trailer is. As always, let us know how it goes for you.

I use the street tune with 10,000lbs. My egt's never pass 1,400 to the op.

Yes get new tune--do not tow in extreme--very very bad

I tow with my x street every weekend. Never had any trouble doesnt run hot at all, and gets better mpg than my tow tune.. I haul a 24' race trailer with a mini sprint in it. When I ordered my tunes I told then what I would be towing and they said I could in the x street as long as it was under 10k.
