Transfer Case Fluid

Am I ok using Amzoil sythetic ATF?

Oh, and would it be the same for an 03 Gasser too? Both mine and my dads truck needs changed.

Thanks

Any Mercon (V) rated ATF will work. I'd assume the gassers are the same.

I changed my transfer case fluid on Sunday - Took about 2 1/3 quarts of Royal Purple Max ATF.

Do they have any syncros in them? If so I definatly would run what Ford tells you to. In a transmission at least, running anything but what they recomend will screw with the whole thing. I switched to synthetic ATF in my trans Shifted like crap. switched back to dino ATF, shifted like a champ

Ford doesn't design or mfgr the transfer cases. New Process / New Venture Gear does. It is safe to run ATF in most all modern transfer cases. This is the same for Ford, Dodge, GM, etc.

As for the trans, yes, run only what Ford tells you to.
