05 no start then finally starts run fine

Shut truck off then cranked on and off for about 20 minutes then started ran fine didn't miss a beat drove 10 miles home shut off same thing drove to dealers and dropped off tried starting it there and it started right up each time. 38,000 miles oil and fuel filters changed every 5000 miles run amsoil 5w40,bullet proof egr cooler 3 months ago new fitting on hpop any ideas dealer says will be haerd to trouble shoot now that it starts there.

didn't have sct in it when it happend dealer said alot of times it wont show.

Autozone code reader will show codes that the SCT won't. Just because it started doesn't mean there isn't a stored code.

I will get one for future use or maybe used snap on scanner were he comes to my manufacturing shop every week

Getting truck back from dealer tomorrow starts fine now there telling me no codes.I cranked on this thing for 20 to 30 minutes each time to get it to start now it starts right up the fuel pump did not sound as loud as usual when it wouldn't start .Any ideas as I am paralyzed and do not needto get stranded truck is in great shape and don't really want tobuy a new one.

Check FICM voltages.

Get a way to monitor ICP volts versus IPR duty cycle (checking for high pressure oil leaks). Scangauge II does this I believe. Even though the STC fitting was replaced, did you have the standpipes and dummy plugs replaced also?
