Brake fluid leak

This pic may be a little hard to follow, but this is the brake plunger where it goes through the firewall. If you look closely there is fluid dripping around the red cicle. I noticed this yesterday and it appears that its been leaking for awhile. Any ideas what is actually leaking? Something as simple as an O ring? Thanks!

Is that coming off the back of your brake pedal into the brake booster?

Yes. Right where the booster comes through the firewall and meets the pedal.

Likely the hydro-boost leaking not the master cylinder. Ford does recommend replacing both if the hydro-boost is leaking. There's no o-ring to replace either. Requires a full rebuilt unit to correct.

How much $ are we talking? And is it bad to be driving it? Will I lose my brakes over it?

Around $100 for a reman master and $200 for the hydro-booster. Shopping around the prices may vary but gives you a general idea. I would estimate no more than 3 hours of labor, including bleeding the lines.

looks like a hydraulic (power steering fluid) leak, not brake fluid. If you want, I have a MINT hydroboost with the master Ill sell you for 150 complete, out of a 68k mile truck.

plus shipping, and can have it out monday!
