Check engine light
I get a check engine light after I shut my truck off and start it back up. Runs fine nothing seems wrong. Plugged SCT in and doesnt give me any codes. So I hit the clear dtcs and then it goes away. Start up go driving and nothing then shut it off get back in next day go for drive and comes back on. Is the SCT just not picking the code up or do I have something weird going on.

The SCT isn't a very good code reader, your gonna need to use a better one.

What year is your truck?
Do you have your EGR deleted? |

03 and yes egr deleted for over 6 months and now happend. SCT should turn it off anyway so don't think its that. Whats a better code reader.

Autoenginuity software

Sct only turns it off if your tunes says to. It isn't automatic, but I don't think that's your problem. What do you have to monitor your engine?

auto enginuity is great. I have scanxl with the enhanced ford package, and at half the price, it was a no brainer. The only thing I wish it could do is recalibrate my speedo.

Will scanxl do buzz test, power balance, ect? Don't here too much about the scanxl.

unfortunately not yet. They intend to ad support for those tests, but I'm not holding my breath. the only thing that convinced me to get scanxl over AE is that I got enhanced diagnostics of mazda, chrysler, and GM for the same price as just ford with ae. I work on a lot more than fords, didn't want to handicap myself.
