thermostat help please??

So i just got my edge cs in and have been watching my temps non stop but will doing some reading earlier i realized i might have a faulty thermostat. My ECT hardly ever goes above 190* its usually about 187*-189* my deltas are still good but is this right or wrong and is it really bad to have a stuck open thermostat

You need to get on the freeway on level ground set the cruise at 60 after about 2 min. do your check, yes if you are 187* your t/stat is open? the Ford t/stat starts to open at 192.2* and is all the way open at 219.2* and it is bad to run a diesel on the cold side if you get a new one Ford only because if they fail they fail open. You can order one here for about $20 also get a new o-ring Tousley Ford Parts Depot

I am pretty sure all t-stats are made to fail open not just ford ones.

I just installed an new t-stat this past weekend and did a complete coolant system flush/fill. Prior to my change out, my ECT was in the 187-189 range regardless with my oil temp running 8-9 degrees hotter. With the new stat, my ECT is running 190-192 with oil temps around 196-197. Can't say that my stat was bad, just installed a new one since I was cleaning the system anyway.
