truck broken..this is mystery...Thread for no start log by a noob
Hey yall... new to these forums and they are amazing , so much info.
I been having problems with my truck, and noticed some others had same problems as me and i wanna post this thread to help people diagnose their trucks. It begins: Got truck 4 weeks ago...1 week after pickup started idleing rough when cold..but once up to temp ran amazing... -Truck got progressively Worse ..and would smoke when rough idling and have no power (couldn't even get out of driveway) -last weekend drove 350+miles..parked it..next day drove to lake parked it..and -MONDAY at 6 am went to go to work and TRUCK WOULD NOT START..been sitting all week since -It would crank really fast , and sound like it wanted to fire, and puffs a TINY amount of black smoke.. I CHECKED- OIL, Fuel Filters, Water Seperator, FICM (48 Volts - on and cranking), Batteries, Emergency Fuel pump shut off switch.....Everthing ok... SOOOOooo.... I bought an OBD READER ($50),...I had ONE CODE (with NO check engine) light)!!! P2285 - Injector Control Pressure Sensor Circuit Low Went to ford- Bought one for $150 Replaced it ..and erased code.. AND MAGICALLY - It didnt start ![]() So today it is being hauled to ford - FML - lol Just got this truck not even made first payment... I will post what is going on..and hopefully if anyone has these same problems this will help.. --Now i know why you need edge insight for monitoring and fuel pressure gauges..now it all makes since why diesels have **** load of gauges..helps you really pinpoint problems...im buying gauges if the bank is not broken today.... |

What year is your truck? Does it have a tuner? What is your oil change history?
Reading codes is important, but so many things are inter-related. It can get expensive just changing parts. One thing to do with an ICP code is to monitor the ICPv (volts) and the IPR duty cycle together. Last edited by bismic; 05-27-2011 at 04:23 AM. |

Depending on what the problem is and how much it'll cost you. Read up on your state's lemon laws
