Do I have 03 or 04 engine in my 2004 6.0?

Looking at buying an 04 6.0 king ranch. I want that 03 engine for the better EGR and that LOUD *** TURBO haha. I've heard that there are some early 04s that have the 03 turbos and engine itself. Is there a way to tell without straight piping it and hoping it screams?

On the pass side valve cover is a Emissions sticker with the model year. The '03'-early '04's have the ICP sensor behind the turbo, where as the late '04's have the ICP on the pass side valve cover up by the GPM.

I have a 2003 motor in my 2004. Look at the passenger side of the motor it will tell you what model year the engine is on the emissions sticker.

It would be friggin nice if Ford put would use the same year motor as the vehicle year. My '05 Ex has a '04 engine.
