Just a warning...

Ok, this should teach me to research companies a bit better. I usually don't ***** about companies, but I don't want you guys to get screwed, either. So, here goes:

Last week I ordered a light bar for my truck from smittybilt-direct.com, which is ran by 4wheelonline.com. I wanted a 3 tab light bar, and finding a inexpensive 3 light bar is kinda hard to find. Well, they had one nice and cheap, with free shipping! So, I pulled the trigger. A few days later, I was trying to check my order status, and the website kept timing out. So I typed 4wheelonline into Google, and pretty much all I got was a ton of bad reviews. Bad service, mostly. I got nervous after reading about some guy and his 4 week wait for his parts. However, much to my surprise, it showed up today. Then I opened the box. What I received was not even close to what I ordered. They sent me a 4 tab light bar that isn't close to the same style. So, I got checked the box against what I actually ordered, and the part numbers were the same. Then I got curious, and looked up the part number on Google. I got the right part according to the part number I ordered. Too bad the pictures and the description weren't even close. Apparently, they used the picture and description from a product that Smittybilt doesn't even make anymore.

So I called "customer service". The don't do returns over the phone. The guy I talked to sounded like I interrupted him from something much more important. After describing to him what I just told you guys, he says, "Sir, I don't understand how what you ordered is different". I just couldn't get through to him after even directing him to a website to show him what I actually got. He then tried to sell me a bar that was $80 more. After telling him no, I just want my money back, he wasn't even able to tell me if I would be charged a restocking fee (25%) for returning it, even though it wasn't what I ordered. I have to call back and get a manager tomorrow. This should be fun.

So, guys, I'm not trying to sit here and just bash companies, but just please do your research on companies before you order from them. The Better Business Bureau doesn't think too highly of them either, rating them at a C+. They have a ton of complaints. Don't get screwed like I did. Not I gotta try to fight through this nightmare...

same for me. i ordered 4 inch superlift and got front coils in 2 days. it then took 8 weeks to get rest of lift, which by the way was a skyjacker. they said don't worry it will still work. like hell. had to call superlift to get correct brackets. also ordered n-fab door to door 3 hoop bar nerf bars. i got 2 hoop bars shipped. i just said to hell with it and put them on instead of shipping back.

Oh no. That sucks. I just hope I can get my money back and be done with it. And if they charge me a restocking fee, I will be calling my Attorney General. I will not be screwed by some hack company.

Good to know!

Hope they do the right thing and take care of you. What some of these crappy companys dont realize is bad word of mouth travels faster than good.

I certainly hope so too! Im just nervous after reading some of the bad reviews and everything that those people had to deal with...
