Which truck to buy

Ive been shoping around for some trucks and have found these 2 trucks which are pretty nice. i drive 400 miles to college and i need something reliable for that. one is a 7.3 and the other is a 6.0 both 6 speeds. what worrys me about the 7.3 is that it has fender flares on it so im guessing its hiding some rust and the thing with the 6.0 is i know that they have there issues but as soon as i get it im going to have to drop atleast 1.5k into it just to make it reliable. just looking for some input here are the 2 links

I WAS IN THE SAME BOAT ABOUT A YEAR AGO. I HAD A 95 WITH 7.3 AND 316,XXX BODY LOOKED LIKE IT TO. MY FRIEND BOUGHT A 2003 WITH A 6.0. NOW IVE HAD A 6.0 FOR A YEAR NOW BEST CHOICE IVE EVER MADE AND (MY WIFE).LOL STOCK TO STOCK 100 HP MORE AND A TURBO THAT CANT BE BEAT. BUT YOUR RIGHT GET RID OF EGR GO BIG EXHAUST AND ALL THE FORD UPDATES AND YOU WILL BE HAPPY O YEAH SCT PROGRAMMER!

Yeah ever since owning my 7.3 i know how hard it is to get power out of those things dont get me wrong they could tow a house off a foundation but it doesnt have the HP like the 6.0 does. they only thing that i like about the 7.3 is i know i will have that thing for another 200k miles

I like the 6.0. Has Gauges on the pillar, that could be a good or bad sign depending on the previous owner. I would start off by running the Carfax and getting an Oasis on it.

Is there anyone on this site that can get me an oasis or will the ford dealer do it for free

I shoped around for 2 months wife said just but a truck already. i told her I'm being picky. Then one night on craigslist it fell into my lap 2003 f350 6.0 extended cab short box just had 5 inj and head gaskets done and 4inch turbo back $11500 obo call right a way whent to pick it up with all the loan paperwork all ready and i didnt even know what color it was just a dark ****ty pic.... lol still happy

Ford will print you an Oasis out for Free

ill head to the dealer tomorrow then. and i need to find out if it has anything done to it because it looks like the previous owner might have done a delete from the gauges

Just checked the carfax and it has no accidents and has about 30 records of regular maintnence that has been done which is good, also says that it was a fleet vehicle but the only thing i dont understand is if it is a fleet vehicle why does it have the tinted windows and gauges.

Bonus for you if he did. Save some coin by not having to do it yourself. On these trucks its almost a have to. Just my .02
