AFE recharge - can I use K&N kit?
I got an AFE set up, problem is I don't have their recharge kit.
I do however have lots of K&N recharge left over from my wheeler. Can I use the K&N recharge on the AFE filter? I really don't want to wait like 4 days and pay 8.00 in shipping for 8.00 part |

If its made with the cotton gauze and is made to be recharged yes. Its basically colored oil anyways, just thinner. I use K&N stuff on filters that are not K&N.

My only input on that is that K&N uses a vegetable based oil vs afe using synthetic based oil. only reason I bring that up is that vegetable based oil creates a stickey residue that tends to like to clog up MAF sensors andwe have had a couple of customers have run away turbos also from it gumming them up. Just my 2 cents

I use it. I don't have any substantiative evidence on wether its good or bad, but i clean it then just LIGHTLY coat the element with the k&n oil.
