need help asap!
I test drove an 03 F-250 today, 6.0 123k miles 4" lift, 4x4, auto, etc... anyways i love everything about the truck... except as i went to turn around, the brakes were hard as a rock and would barely slow the truck down, then the power steering stopped working. once i struggled to get the big turd turned around, everything seemed to work fine again.... has this happened to anyone else? is it a fairly simple fix or cheap/spendy? like i said, i really like the truck and dont want a possible $250 part scare me off, but i dont know what may have caused it. thanks!

Bad hydroboost

That would be my answer as well.

is that a spendy repair if you do it yourself? and is it a fairly common thing to go bad?

also, how does the system work? i looked up some parts and everything was brake related, not steering. would a bad hydroboost cause the loss of power steering too then?

sorry for so many questions! but could it be the power steering pump instead? or maybe both the PS pump and hydroboost?

My father in laws truck did the same thing. He had to put one of these on. You can do it yourself but its a little more than a 250.00 part.
powerbrakes hydroboosts vacuum boosters everything for your extreme braking needs |

It is most likely the hydroboost pump.

think the power steering pump should be replaced too?
