Let down tonight

Well guys as bad as I hate to admit this I was pretty much eaten up by a ram this evening and I'm not happy about. Specially with the mods I have compared to what the ram doesn't have besides a k&n intake and bully dog triple dog and stock size straight pipe. I have SCT tuning 5 inch straight pipe banks ram air 6.4 banjos and blue fpr spring zoodad mod afe intake elbow and oversized cac tubes. I don't understand it. I had mine on the canned 140 hp tune and his was on the 40-45 hp tow tune. I know because I didn't believe him so we swapped trucks and the outcome was the same wonder what I'm doing wrong???

06 with a good tune will do over 400 no problem. Plus a dually 2wd dodge is gonna be lighter than your truck.

They're light, and they make power easy.

Truck on the trailer is 7000 pounds, with driver.

8100 pounds, with driver.

For the dodge to run 13:00 in the quarter he needs about 525 HP.

For the ford to run the same 13:00 he needs 600, so the weight makes a big difference.

I don't see how?? So your saying that a 6.0 with say around 475 hp at the flywheel will get beat by a 5.9 cummins with around 375 hp at the flywheel? I had my 120 SCT tune running on my psd and he had a 40 hp tow/economy tune and his and I couldnt walk an inch from him. I got in his truck and he got in mine and we turned out with the same results. Maybe somethings wrong with my tune or my truck??

It takes for every 100lbs lighter you make a vehicle is like adding 10hp. So if his truck is 1000lbs lighter than you need 100 more hp just to be equal.

this story kinda hold true to me as well..i dont have a 6.0 but i did race a 5.9 last night actually. he just has a 80 hp tune and i had my tony wildman on extreme all he has is straight pipe and programmer. i have programmer, exhaust, intake, transmission, and turbo waste gate. and he didnt beat me but i could not shake him his front bumper was next to my door bassically the whole time. and we raced from a dead stop, and rolling same thing everytime.

It makes me mad that I've dumped almost 3 grand in performance for my truck and he's got around 500-600 in his. It's a big disappointment that's for sure. Will customs tunes help out here or do I need to upgrade to a 58v FICM? I don't want this to happen again. I've smoked other psd's and maxi-pads and some cummins and I've been beat also. But I'm not satisfied. If I gotta keep putting money in something just to badly beat my bro in laws cummins (programmer/intake/straight pipe) then I'll buy a gas engine and supercharge it. It's gotta be cheaper lol.
