08 Mirror swap/install question

I have spent a fair amount of time searching and haven't found it. Will an 08 mirror with power/heat/defrost work on my 04 with power/heat/defrost?, and if so what is the EASIEST most painless way to connect all the wires, is there a harness someone sells out there? Thanks for any help, tips, advice, or links to more info.....

I'm not too concerned about the folding mirror options, just replacing what i currectly have now with a better mirror..

yes it will work.. as far as i know there is no conversion harness. you will have to cut the plug ends and wire them up directly... thats what i did on my own truck....

Its easy if you have ajust a little electrical knowledge. I think that mine were marked on the 08 mirrors, and then I just had to find the corresponding wire from the truck harness. No, there is not a harness that you can buy, that I know of. use the search function (google) here on the ORG, I know there is a thread that has a pretty good write up, with wire collors and stuff

Ok thanks guys, so the wire colors corresponded from the truck to the new wires in the mirrors? If thats the case, it should be a breeze. Anyone have a good source or link to the best OE style 08 mirrors??? Pm me if needed. Again, thanks for the help!!!

IIRC some of the wire colors were the same, but the signals were different

They are expensive! I was VERY lucky to have bought mine for 200 bucks from a company, before they had a HUGE order from the ORG (someone posted a link) and they doubled in price shortly after I got mine

Ok thanks! I found a pretty good price on some that are 09-10 tow mirrors, those would work or did they change anything between 08-09?

All the info you need is here . 08 -11 are the same , some have different wiring colors .

Ordered the harley headlights and the mirrors i'll order in the morning. Hoping to get a more "updated" look and in the process increase my lighting with the 05+ headlights and improved blind spots while towing with the mirrors. I'll post pics when its all done!

I flat out love the 08 style mirrors . The field of view is improved 100%, and they look badazz

Got them installed. Wasn't nearly as hard as i was making it, and i couldn't agree with you more. Gave the Exc. a more narly look and really improved the field of site!
