New 6.0 what should i look for

Hey guys new to the forum. Ive had a duramax and just sold a cummins. Anyways im looking to buy a 6.0 ive always loved fords fit and finish. I know the 6.0 head issues and egr issues but im just wondering what i should look for when buying one? im looking at an 05-07. Just any info would help. Ill be buying studs and head gaskets when i get one , just dont want to get a lemon. Thanks guys

Same as any other vehicle. how does it run, everything feel tight, etc...

One thing is get an oasis report, and if you have a programmer that is compatible take it with you and check the difference between oil and coolant temps. 15* or more and it will need an oil cooler. Other than than that, just a general snooping around and should be fine.

thanks for the link, I am looking for an excursion currently and really like the front end of the 6.0s along with the quieter engine. This thread answers lots of questions for me.
