05 with egr delete-no cel?
I've done several egr deletes, but this one has me curious. I installed the up-pipe, coolant tube, etc. but left the valve in the engine, and the CEL light isn't on. I figured it'd throw a code for insufficient flow, but 800 miles later, still no light and no pending codes. Truck has factory tuning with an edge juice/attitude.
anyone else see this? I did the same thing on my 06 and it threw a code almost immediately. My 03 didn't trigger the light, but it did have a code stored. |

03-04 usually dont throw a code, 05 it is hit or miss, 06 and 07 almost always throw a code, my 05 is the same way, NO CODE!!!

my early 06 won't throw an insufficient flow code if the outside air temp is 40°F or lower. I went over 1000 miles before i ever saw a check eng light because I did my delete in winter. Once it started warming up it would come on and go out every few days. Now that's it's warmer out it never stays off
early 05s don't have a MAF, that has to be the reason the code is not set as the MAF is the most accurate way to see EGR flow. If EBP was an accurate input then these trucks wouldn't have MAFs |

My early 06 loves to throw the code if its 40 or lower. It wont however if its above 40 Weird

yeah if you go in with IDS and look at the EGR monitor my truck will say something like 2% flow was detected and the minimum flow for that code to set is around 1%
weird |

Im curious if the 05's that don't throw a cel have the same pcm calibration codes.
