Ok I have a 04 350 lariat super cab 4x4, what I dont understand or why it is but my truck compared to every other 6.0 ive paid attntion too, mine next to all others sounds like a 7.3 whats the deal with that

thats interesting. i dont know.
mines an 03 and it vane cycles (dont know if yours has been updated or not) and when the vanes are at 0 duty cycle it kinda sounds like a 7.3 at idle

Ford updated the PCM programming to help prevent the vanes in the Variable Geometry Turbo (VGT) from sticking. While at idle, the PCM tells the VGT to sweep the vanes open and close. It's a very distinct sound in the exhaust. You can YouTube it to get an idea.
