Manual to auto tranny swap

So i got the stock 04 5 speed manual tranny right now and was wondering if anybody has swaped it for a auto tranny? is it a pain in the ***? Cost more than just rebuilding wat i got now? any advice would help im new to the diesel world but learning everything i can when ever i can Thanks!

Just find someone that wants a manual. There are thousands of them on this web site and they would all be willing to park side by side and swap everything.

I'm pretty sure the transmission hump in the cab is different between sticks and autos.

thats what i need to find out? I know in the 7.3's you have to but not sure on the 6.0's
