Necessary Gauges

What are gauges that I need to have that are important

I would recommend getting an Edge Insight CS/CTS, for the number of things you can monitor without spending a fortune for gauges.

As for gauges, I recommend this order.

EGT
ECT
EOT
Trans Temp (if you tow at all)
Oil Pressure
Fuel Pressure

Things you would like to monitor that gauges couldn't: FICM Voltage, ICP Press and Voltage, etc. The monitors available are more cost effective than gauges.
(I have both on my rig, went the gauge route before the latest update from Edge)

The Edge does have capabilities for EGT, but not fuel pressure at this time. I thought I had read that the Edge can read 1 FICM reading now. The price with EGT for the Edge is somewhere near $400.

There is also the Scangauge II. It doesn't read EGT's or Fuel pressure. But can read a lot more other gauges. The price of the SGII is $160.

The Edge Insight can be used with a programmer (Edge or SCT are most common). As for all the things it monitors I'd have to go out a mess with it, I can't seem to pull up a list for the 6.0L Powerstroke PIDs. It can be expanded now to get EGT and Fuel Pressure.

The Insight CS/CTS is not a programmer. The Evolution CS/CTS is but no one on here will recommend it for your 6.0. SCT with custom tunes is the way to go.
