JD Coolguard II question.

I was about to buy some of this, but started reading the label. Doesn't say EC-1, and it does say "low silicate formula". I thought the silicates were the problem we were trying to get rid of? Or, do all, even the EC-1 rated ones, have some amount of silicate?
Thoughts?

I have been using coolgard/coolgardII for the last 40,000mi. in my 6.0, no issues whatsoever. I had pulled a sample and sent it off to the lab a couple of monthe ago and everything was good. CoolgardII was designed for high egr temp use and its good for 6,000hrs. service.

Do yourself a favor and get a CAT EC-1 rated ELC coolant and don't mess around with anything that contains silicates. No CAT EC-1 rated coolant will have silicates.
