JUST GOT A DIELSEL-04- 6.0 - What to do?

Hey yall, just got a 2004 250 , lariat , 4x4 , 4 door , 149,000 ,

- I checked the carfax , was very clean no wrecks, and it had all the service records for when the vehicle was inspected for problems and proper service. Has been very well taken care of. Picking it up tomorrow and cant wait.

THIS IS MY FIRST DIESEL ever. All my friends have diesels. I honestly do not know that much about them and trying to learn the ropes on them. SO any sites on properly owning and taking care of a diesel. Any certain things i should know..

Also another question...The truck has an intake, but im not sure about the exhaust...and the dealer didnt know if it had a programmer or not.. I drove another 04 6.0 , and this one was more powerful and the engine was more responsive...so any way i can check for that?

--ALSO i have no idea how big this lift is...does anyone know? is it a level kit or 4 inch? have no idea...

Sorry for all the questions, been researching and just trying to learn all i can..

I have no idea about lifts, but SCT with custom tunes is the way to go with the 6.0. You really should start with gauges/monitor first to see how healthy your motor is, then address those issues before you start adding power.

Welcome to the site. I am new also. Trying to learn by osmosis from these guys....the best advice I can give you is to read, read, read. It doesn't take long to figure out which threads to lean heavier on while learning.

Dont even think about programming unless ur willing to spend $4000 on oil cooler upgrade,egr delete and a arp hud stud job.

Ok great. I have been looking at them. Should i buy individual gauges or a digital monitor???

The best bang for the buck is the EDGE Insight CS or CTS, also the ScanGaugeII.
