MBRP quality?!?

So I just purchased a 2006 psd it came with full mbrp w muffler and cat, I am a welder by trade and mainly do tig work, I was going to make my own test pipe but after seeing the mbrp ss one for only 80 it was cheaper for me to not waste my time on it and just buy one, first off I know my expectations are high because I do this for a living but I was expecting at least a decent mig weld. I opened the box at work today only to find a weld with a LOT of porosity and spatter. I would have been ok as long as I knew it wouldn't crack but I am positive It will and refuse to pit it on my truck. Anyone else have this problem or just bad luck I will be posting pics and calling mbrp tommrow!

From my experience all the MBRP stuff has been pretty good. When I ordered mine the box was damaged either in the warehouse or in shipping and I was missing my hangars, so i called them and they overnighted the stuff i needed and gave me a free t-shirt so they will make it right.

I would say it wasn't a especially "clean" weld, however it looked VERY strong on mine. I would contact them or whoever you bought it from and ask for a new downpipe if you think it will be a problem.

I love mine, very good quality and easy install!!!

So I am a long time gasser guy. If you know gas exhaust, MBRP is by no means at a quality level like Kooks headers. However, I wouldnt say they are as low as like a BBK. I would say my system is mid level quality. Similar to a Flowmaster in quality.
