Cat ELC price
Ok so i went to my Catapillar dealer to pick up some coolant because im going to do the switch and i asked them if they had any and they dident. So im having them get me 7 gallons of 50/50 and they said it was only like $11 and some change. Is that right? It seems like everyone else has said about like $20 or so. And they said it was orange is all this right? I just want to make sure before i buy the wrong stuff
Thanks in advance! |

I too went to the CAT dealer and they only have 50/50 of the EC-1. And was advised they couldn't get the EC-1 Concentrate. So I purchased Zerex ELC EC-1 from NAPA for about $20 a gallon.
My concern for you with using the 50/50 mixture is that because you won't be able to get all the water out, you'll actually have a less than 50/50 mixture - - it'll be too diluted. So my suggestion, if you can, cancel the CAT 50/50 and get the Zerex ELC EC-1 Concentrate. Then dump 3.5 to 4 gallons in and top off with distilled. |

Yea, super hard to get all of the water out. I would get at least a few gallons of stright concentrate. Will be about $20 each at least. I ran 2 gallons of stright and fished it off with 50/50. I am just about a perfect 50/50 per the strip!

it should run about $25 a gallon for concentrate. The model number used to be 119-5250 i believe. Now it's 238-8647...$11 a gallon is prob Cat Deac or w/e its called.

Rotella has a relatively new Ultra ELC which can be used in all types of cars and trucks, diesel and gassers alike, but it is not available in anything smaller than a 55 gallon drum, yet. Alteast, thats what ive heard. |
