Coolant filter replacement

Alright, my filter is due to be swapped out, but I can not get the old one off to save my life. I even took the base out to try and get better leverage on it. Anyone else run into this problem?

I use a strap wrench to get mine out. Need to do the oil trick as getting it out is still a PITA.
