oil help

Hey guys, I'm new around here but I have noticed in a short time that a lot of your are running this T6 rotella 10w30 ! I have never seen any other diesel oil than 15w40(which I run now) and 0w40 !

My truck usually sees 2 oil changes a month, that's how much I'm on the road lol where can I find this T6 10w30 and is it priced much different than the 15w40 rotella I use now ? Also if it is full syn how many miles can u go on it if regular oil calls for 7500 ?

Rotella T6 5w40 is a full Syn oil you can pick it up at Walmart along with your Motorcraft filter (only use motorcraft or racor filters) and the 6.0 should only go 5k on the oil because of the shear of the oil by the injectors. I use Amsoil in mine i think it is a good full Syn oil the price is high but mine pulls 95% of the time i use my 97 as a grocery getter.

O'reily's has the T6 on sale right now for $17.99 a jug! I bought everything they had in stock so i'm good for the next 2 oil changes now.

I would suggest running this for 5k, then get an oil analysis done and see if you can go longer on it.

I've heard that the regular shell 15w-40 is hard on the 6.0 so I wont use it in my truck.

Don't want to hijack the thread but I am interested in this too. I just changed my oil and used Rotella 15w40 in anticipation of summer. I would rather run a synthetic but was hoping to find it in a 15w40 rather than a 10w30. Does such a thing exist? Thx

Just run the Rotella T6 5w40. I switched to that on my last oil change and can already tell a huge difference.

Amsoil makes a 15W40 full synthetic along with 10W30 and 5W40. I am a Amsoil dealer, let me know if you are interested!
