My MPG needs HELLLLLLP!
I just bought a 2005 6.0 King Ranch 4x4 with 55,000 miles and it is as stock as they come. I mainly do city driving ive been getting 9.6- 11.7 mpg, i read all these other guys are getting 15-17 in the city, i want that! shouldn't i be getting that with my factory settings?? do i need mods?

Are those numbers hand calculated or are they off the dash read out?I get about 13 city if i keep my foot out of it. 18 highway. An EGR delete would help a little. My mods are listed below, and I'm running the Extreme Street tune.

Yours do seem low. I average about 14.5 mpg with a 50/50 mix of city and highway. I haven't heard from any trustworthy source about getting 15 mpg with just city mileage.
An exhaust and custom tune will definitely help. |

Next ? i love how quiet my diesel is, can you recommend an exhaust system that will stay relatively the same noise level? I was also told a cold air intake would help, thoughts? |

Better milage comes from taller gears, 370's are for the most part what comes with a stock 2005 but it may have been ordered with 4's check your build sheet if you have it or mark the drive shaft and wheel to figure it if you don't. 18 or so comes from as high as 340 gears. mine has 370's and gets 11/12 city 17 or so freeway and 13/14 pulling my boat, but I drive ez too, 4.50 / gal for fuel plain suks
