Mirror chromed cover removal

I just bought a new set of running light/turn signal lenses for my mirrors. The OE one on the driver's door is broken. I know there are 3 tabs inside the mirror housing to release the cover, but I don't want to break them. Any suggestions/tips on getting them off without breaking? I can get two of the three tabs free, but having trouble with one.
Thanks.

Mine is not held on that way. It has 3 tabs that fit into the housing, behind the mirror glass. The chrome cover is just that, I can see under it, nothing for it to stick to.
Thanks for trying.

Just go slow, pry on the tab and give the outer shell a tug at the same time. They fit on there tight.

Is it just the three tabs or am I missing one? It seems really tight at the bottom.
