recentley did a turbo cleaning and noticed exhaust turbine was in pretty rough shape. went on line and bought one on ebay. has anyone ever changed the exhaust turbine and shaft in a VGT turbo?

This writeup is pretty comprehensive on rebuilding the turbo. Although not "specific" to what you are asking, I think it will answer your questions.
