Finished a couple things this weekend...
Did my coolant flush over to ELC and added a coolant filter. Went pretty smooth.
Installed the updated FPR spring and 6.4 banjo bolts. Didnt read that the banjo's are supposed to be torqued to 33ft lbs (IIRC) Hopefully it is still good, didnt gorilla tighten them just pretty snug. The banjo's were soooo much easier to get to while changing the coolant since I was able to remove the upper hose and other things out of the way ![]() Installed the Stealth's CCV mod. Well almost. Just need to mount the canister and plug in the lines. Everything is routed. I must say I cant believe how much smoke/oil vapors come out of that hose!!!! I drove it around a little today and ran in the store real quick and left the truck running and I thought something was wrong because smoke was rolling out from under it due to it being just "dumped" into the air right now. Need to get that canister mounted! Next on list is to install a fuel pressure guage. |

My CCV is dumped and I don't get any smoke rolling out from under the truck. That would concern me.

My CCV reroute has been "temporarily" dumped under my truck and I see very little smoke/vapor coming out of it.
As far as the torque for the banjos, the torque values depend on which washer you put in there. The stock copper washers require 28lb-ft (Ford spec) and from what I have been told by a tech, the composite washers require less, only 18lb-ft (per Ford), which I and he agree is rather low. So anywhere from 18-33, or "snug" but don't "gorilla" tighten them. You really only want to tighten it enough to keep it from leaking and not much more. |

You might want to rig up a hose w/ a pressure-vacuum gauge to see what your crankcase pressure is running. The max spec is 0.3 psig.
I connected the hose to the dipstick tube and ran it into the cab where I had a fairly cheap gauge (now I have a Magnehelic) attached at the other end of the hose. I never saw over 0.1 psig and even got a decent vacuum at WOT. |
