2005 engine in 2003-2004 truck?
I have the complete engine (2005)-complete with the hp oil system, turbo, wiring, etc, Id like to know what, if anything, must be changed to put it in a 2003-2004 truck. I know the icp is in a different location, the turbo is different, as well as the stc fitting/hpo system, however it seems like if I use everything, and plug the 05 harness into the 03 truck it should work-am I flawed in this thinking?
Thanks guys! |

did you use the 05 engine harness? If you used the 04 harness, did you have to extend the icp wiring?
Thanks! |

last one i ran across was an 05 with an 03 engine. wiring harness was extended to the ICP and that was the only change i could really see without looking too closely. due to the differences year to year it would be best to use the harness originally equipped with the vehicle. extending the ICP wiring is no big deal at all
you may have to rig a few hoses, I believe the front covers/hose routing are different on the later 6.0s. maybe someone can confirm that |

Here is what I gathered from the guys on the 'nation.
front cover is different, but if you use the 05-07 hose you can use it the wiring harness plugs right in and works without issue and other than that its a direct swap. Thanks guys! |
