Smoke?

I am just a little curious about this, and I guess I would like some clarity if some of you do not mind?

Some guys want smoke, some do not want smoke? I have read that the ULSD is supposed to eliminate most of that.

Isn't the smoke from the burned oil? isn't that better for the engine, i.e. more lubrication.

My truck only has 7K on it, and it doesn't smoke at all. It almost looks like a gasser. Is there another reason for the smoke other than annoying others?

I've never heard of people wanting white smoke (seems to mean your rig is having problems). Black smoke= Sweet: The more the better if you're not worried about wasting fuel.

It is just unburnt diesel blowing out of your exhaust (Wasted fuel and bad for the environment). Actually niether of the smoke is good, but if you've got white smoke (usually above freezing) then it usually means something is wrong. Black smoke is fun because it looks pretty cool out of big rigs and it fun to pour onto those who drive ricers that think they're fast.

black smoke is unburned fuel, basically a truck making black smoke has done performance mods to increase fuel output.
if you're making a lot of black smoke, you need a bigger turbo
the REAL fast trucks do not make black smoke all the way down the track

Yeah! I couldn't get my truck to roll coal even with the crappy tow/haul chip that was in there...that I didn't know about. Now, with the 6pos...I can't help but roll coal. It even does it out of gear if I rev it up quick. It's sweet!

Yesterday after work I stoped to get some fuel and when I was done, I flipped over to xtreme and reved it quick to 2500. The attendant guy came out and said, "Uhhh...Dude! Your truck is smoking! It's all thick and black!"
I just told him, "Yeah, I know! Sweet huh?!"
