40 psi
Should the stock 03 turbo be able to put down 40 psi or is my gauge messed up.
Was pulling 22000 total weight with an enclosed 32 foot gooseneck, at 55 in third up a 7 percent grade. at about 800 egt three inches after the turbo.

I doubt it. WOT with a stock turbo and no tune, will only put you at 25-28 psi. Even with a custom tune, unless your studded, will keep you under 30 psi.

My autometer read 40psi guess I had better start looking for a new one. I know the computer is supposed to limit the boost but could is the turbo capable of these kinds of pressures i love looking at the guage and seeing those numbers. This trip the truck really impressed me. Pulled like a freight train and wanted to keep going.

An aftermarket gauge could read that high. There is some controversy over what the stock gauge will read with the 3 bar map sensor.
Anyway, your EGT probe should really be in your exhaust manifold and not your down pipe. You are not getting an accurate reading of your EGT's there. |

On my 2003 I usually pull 21 - 22 PSI sometimes seeing 23 using an Edge Insight.
PGreenSVT, the 03's don't have a factory boost gauge. |

I know the probe should be moved just been to lazy. %uess I had better just order a new pressure guage then.
