i also have a duramax. I got some bad fuel . the dealer says it had fungus in it . I needs injectors now . the fuel retailer says they tested there tanks that they are fungus free. It is about $4k for cleaning and injectors. bummer

I think it is actually a bacteria that grows in diesel fuel. Not sure how they get ride of it though. I remember seeing something about it on discovery or some network at one point. Good luck! Let us know how you get rid of it. Lamisil or vagisil might do the trick.

Fungus/Algae is more of a bigger problem when running Bio Diesel. I have seen pictures and that stuff is nasty.

One think that my does does to help out with fungus(OTR trucker) is keep the tanks full or at least fill them up when you do put fuel in your tank. It helps keep all areas of the tank clean, of course there isn't much you can do about bad fuel..

To get rid of it use a product like this: FPPF Products like this just make it dead, do not dissolve the bacteria. You will still need to filter or drain and flush the tank.
