Replacement shocks
I have an '06 350, EC, SB, SRW. It has the FX4 pkg. I am guessing that the shocks on it are the original, not sure what kind was original. It has about 104K on it. I would like to replace them with something that will give a better ride. I don't do any off roading or tow much. I do have a camper, but it is not super heavy. So, in short, looking for basically a set for a decent ride with an empty truck. I have air springs as well, so there is some additional help if needed.

if it is the FX4 package, that means that it came with Rancho brand shocks, which in my opinion, are very good shocks for the price. that is what i always use on my trucks.

I can't give much advice except I bought my 03 (front leaf springs) and it had Bilsteins, I couldn't be happier with the ride and control of the truck. I can only imagine how much nicer it would be with coils up front.

Changed my Rancho's out to Bilsteins, and couldn't be happier. The 5100 series look good too, with the new stainless coating.

I need to replace mine as well. These Ranchos are nice but I want to level out the front and Daystar has a 2.5" kit with 4 shocks for less than $280. Anyone ever run these? To the OP sorry to hijack, but no sense opening a new thread when it can be discussed here since you're in the market anyway.

I noticed a big difference going from stock to Bilsteins.

go to 4wheelparts.com and look into their supper shocking deal. I got 4 bilstein 5100 for 300 dollars. The ranch 5000 seriers are 220 if i recall, or you can get crazy they have them all listed. By the way, Bilsteins on every truck i have ever owned and never had a problem with one of them.
