FICM and SCT questions

Well I have had a SCT tuned by ID for the past few months. When installed, the truck ALWAYS smokes a little on start up. When returned to stock, it never smokes.

I have read where FICM failure can be foretold by smoke on startup. Is it possible the tune is causing this? I just had a new FICM installed last week and did not tune the truck for a few days. Immediately after tuning the truck began smoking on start up. Now I should say this is oly on start up in the AM and it has not been cold here (~65 degrees in AM)

Any thoughts on this.

When I run a tune, esp a hot tune I get more smoke/fuel on startup. The program is giving the truck more fuel than it can burn, esp if you don't have an egr it all goes out the tailpipe when cold.

06 F-250 4X4
08 rear bumper and taillights,
Shaeffers 9000 5w40 don't use in your 6.0
GOGO direct solenoid, 08 tranny pan and filter
Edge CTS w/EGT probe.ARP 4" silverline,
fuel pressure reg upgrade, coolant filter, pre-pump spin on fuel filter, ELC,Oil bypass
SCT custom tunes by Vivian@QT and Matt @GH
4440 Front, 3040 rear, 7480 gross. VXCF4

Pretty normal for a hot tune to smoke on initial start-up for the day. My looney and SRL do the same thing.

mine puffs pretty good on start up. I'll post a vid when i get a chance if you'd like . But mine has 190's, soo it'll puff a bit more than some on startup.

It's normal to smoke a little on startup with a tune. If the FICM is bad it will smoke more like a blown head gasket.
