IF you had to choose....

Buying a complete exhaust isnt in the budget......
If you were going to delete the cat or the muffler, which one first? Which one is most restrictive? I want to eventually remove both and have straight thru exhaust, but money is a factor...

The Cat is more restrictive, and the biggest factor in that Turbo whistle some people are looking for.

Get a sawzaw a welder and a stick of 3.5 or 4 inch pipe cut off the cat and muffler (i kept mine in one peice but thats your choice) and weld the new pipe back in place it was a pita but i did it in my driveway. So it should be doable.
