$350 Chinese Powermax.

Detroit, CAT, CUMMINS, Dodge, turbocharger, turbo, 14L, ACERT, C15, M11. N14, HX35W, HX40W This company has Chinese turbos for Cummins out now. If they make a Chinese knock-off $350 Powermax would you buy it?? I would be nervous, and on a 6.0 I don't need anything else to monitor.

Funny, they just had an article about knock-off turbos in this months issue of diesel power. Cant find it on their website yet. I'd def check the article out tho, good reading. I don't think I would chance it. If anything get a reconditioned 03 turbo.

Thats actually how I found out about them Its on pg 40. Didn't really go into depth though. I never really thought about getting a Chinese knock off. I guess they copy everything else, Edelbrock intake manifolds, Yoshimura Exhausts, Tires, you name it. On a cosmetic item I would run it if it was super cheap, but on my motor no way.

DUDE NO WAY! Have you seen what happens to those turbos when they fail? It will take your whole engine with it.

Considering their employees are "fully-trainted" I wouldn't come close to even touching those turbos...Why spend $350 on a cheap turbo when it will cause 5-10k in damage?

That's a hard question. The Chinese CAN MAKE good stuff, they also make some real junk too. What comes to mind is the Norinco made 1911 pistol. Every bit as good as the Colt, accurate machining, excellent steel. They sold for 1/3 the cost of a Colt new. Now, good luck finding one, they are the number #1 choice for custom "hot rod" 1911's.

If it were me however, I'd buy the authentic Powermax. BTW, my safe is full of COLT 1911's, no Norincos, but I did consider..........................

I imagine that since their employees are "fully-trainted" you might be interested in becoming a delar of theirs? (look on the bottom of that page)

I probably wouldn't put it in my truck but I do have a driver and set of irons that are chinese. Paid next to nothing for them and when I changed shafts on the driver the pro never said anything about it being a knock-off. Now I know golf clubs are no turbos, but they can make stuff just as good as the original with reverse engineering..
