This is why I am saying that Ford knows EXACTLY what is happening with these trucks but can't (or won't) provide the crucial details about the issues. Examples would include oil coolers, coolant, EGR systems, head bolts, turbo design and injectors. There has been considerable $$'s invested to determine root cause of these failures, I just wish that information would be provided so permanent repairs be made to the trucks. Unfortunately I suspect that there is far too much money involved to provide the actual causes of the failures since that would likely also cause an increase in either more lawsuites or extended warranty repairs.

well with an open lawsuit they would be shooting themselves if they released any of that information now.

i'm with you though, i believe they know the issues and the fixes.

I agree, Im very interested in what comes of this. After reading that brief, it all makes perfect sense. But on the flip side I can also understand Fords stance in opening commo channels with Int'l before openly admitting a bad and rushed design. But by now, you would have hoped to see Ford make a move to help the consumer more than they have. Such as a service notice to registered owners of 2003-2007 6.0 owners.

very interesting to see how much ford has paid out in warranty costs. also interesting to see that ford sent their engineers to aid navistar with addressing the design flaws.
