Coolant filter ball valve size?

Just ordered the dieselsite coolant filter, but I didnt realize I needed to order the ball valves also. So does anyone know the fitting size so I can go to the hardware store and get them now and be able to do this all once my filter shows up.

Just take the billet aluminum mount and hose as a reference and match them up. I have the same kit from Dieselsite but I bought the valves from them at the same time. I think that it is a standard size though and you can get them from NAPA.

even when its not running it will leak out coolant when your changing the filter if you dont have the shut off valves.

well the issue i ran into was the pressure in the cooling system worked against me. i couldnt turn the filter till it was released from the cap. i had them both shut off before releavin the pressure. released it and opened the valve for a sec. yes it did stop the trickle i had from the hose comming down from the tank. no no coolant gets on the belt unless you spill the filter. in the end its like $10 i think so just find the ones that will work and use em. never know what will happen.

edit i just checked. man i think they went up cause i dont remember spending $18 on 2 valves
