How hot is to hot?
Ok, I towed a 50 horse John Deere tractor w/Loader bucket, bush hogg, and box blade on my trailer today. About and hour trip. This is the first trip with my new edge installed so I could see all my temps. When driving around town empty my ect and eot stay around 189 - 191 respectively. oil temp usually stays 1-2 degrees below ect. While towing today the ect hit 208 and eot jumped to 215 just for a minute before settling back around 210-212. So my question is how hot should this thing get while towing. I hove now idea how much weight I was towing. The temp out side was 81, and I was pulling some decent hills.

Those temps seem very normal for a load and 81 out. I am guessing you were about 10-12k with trailer?

That's good to hear. Guess im just not used to seeing the actual temps. the last time I had a load on this thing is when the HG's went south. Guess im just nervouse still.

So, yea, it was about 60* last fall and I pulled about 10k and got up to 205 205. Not an issue! |

well that's good to hear. Thanks for the info. You know come to think of it I never heard the engine fan kick on either. But there again iv only heard it once in the past year.
So, what temp should I get worried at? |

I wouldnt want mine riding over 220 for a long time. I would be more worried about your EGT when towing.
