Delaminating fuel tank

Has anyone had a problem with their fuel tank delaminating? I'm just curious to see if anyone with has had any problems because my low fuel light doesn't come on and the truck feels slower than usual. I don't have the standard warranty anymore so I can't make a claim. I'm kinda worried about it because my cousins 03 6.0's tanks delaminated and he got them replaced and now he is stuck in Texas with a blown up engine but he was pulling a fair amount of wieght.
