Post Geo area with head gasket failure

On another post this came out as a possible good poll, Here is the history. I was in my local dealer for my glow plug bus bars to get replaced and got a change to talk for quite a bit with the diesel tech there and since 03 he has not had a single head gasket job related to the common problem posted here and on tds. He had some oil coolers and an EGR cooler that looked like a hg problem and more than his share of turbo boots, recalls, small stuff, or occasional real break down as with any. But no head gaskets. So I wonder is this a geographical in nature problem? If you are down south in more hi heat, or always in hi mountain, or desert does this have more failure rate? What do you think.

History, there is 03 owner in tds that has 103k plus on a 6.0 towing hard all the time, lives in MN no problems. Granted I only have 44K now, but I have found the previous owner used this one as a plow/sander truck and I tow 9k with it reg and no problems yet with hg. Hope that wasn't a jinx
